Uterine fibroids will bleed

Uterine fibroids may cause abnormal uterine bleeding. Bleeding caused by uterine fibroids is mainly manifested as increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstruation or irregular vaginal bleeding, which is usually related to the location, size and number of fibroids.

1. Increased menstrual flow

5. Postmenopausal bleeding

Postmenopausal patients with uterine fibroids should be alert to the possibility of malignant transformation of fibroids if they experience sudden vaginal bleeding. Ultrasound examination and diagnostic curettage should be performed as soon as possible. After excluding endometrial lesions, total hysterectomy can be considered.

Patients with uterine fibroids should avoid taking estrogen-containing health products on a daily basis, record bleeding regularly, and review ultrasound every 3-6 months.
