In fact, hair health care is a full-link thing covering scalp care, hair care, and lifestyle adjustment. It cannot be done with a bottle of expensive shampoo or a lady's hair mask.
A while ago, a little girl who was born in 1998 came to my studio. With a monthly salary of more than 7,000, she was able to spend 5,000 on various Internet celebrity hair care products. She stocked a cabinet with caviar hair masks and imported hair growth essences. As a result, the ends of her hair still broke as soon as she combed it, her oily scalp had to be washed every other day, and her hairline was visibly receding. After sitting down and chatting for half an hour, I discovered that she always used scalding hot water to wash her hair, dug her nails into her scalp until it turned red, stayed up until two or three o'clock every day to watch short videos, and drank at least two cups of milk tea a day. To put it bluntly, she only cared about fertilizing the "treetops" and did not care about the life and death of the "tree roots".
Many people’s first misunderstanding about hair care is that they only focus on the hair. In fact, the scalp is the soil where hair grows. If the soil is damaged, the sprouts that grow out will naturally not recover. By the way, there is quite a controversy in the industry about whether to exfoliate the scalp. Some nurses believe that regular cleansing can reduce oil clogging and improve the problem of oily and itchy scalp. Some dermatologists believe that most healthy scalps do not need additional exfoliation at all. Daily cleansing with ordinary shampoo is enough. On the contrary, excessive cleansing will destroy the cuticle barrier and cause sensitivity. How to choose actually depends on the condition of your scalp. If you have oily skin that often blocks pores and develops folliculitis, occasionally using a mild salicylic acid scalp essence to metabolize keratin is really helpful. If you have dry or sensitive scalp, don’t follow the trend. For daily hair washing, just use warm water of about 40 degrees, which is about the same as your body temperature. Don’t believe that washing with cold water can lock the hair scales. Too cold water will not remove the oil and easily irritate the scalp, but it will not be worth the gain.
After talking about the scalp, let’s talk about the hair. In fact, from the moment the hair grows on the scalp, it is already inactive keratin. If it is damaged, it cannot “heal itself”. Various conditioners, hair masks, and essential oils essentially fill the gaps in the hair scales and add a protective film to the hair to reduce subsequent damage from pulling, hot air, perming and dyeing. I bleached my hair three times last year, and the ends of my hair were as dry as hay. Every time I washed my hair, I applied two pumps of hair care essential oil when it was semi-dry. I blew the hair dryer 15 centimeters away from my hair, until the ends were semi-dry. I applied a hair mask and steamed it for 10 minutes once a week. It still feels smooth now, and I haven’t had many split ends in half a year. There is no need to blindly buy expensive hair care products, just suit your hair type. For example, if you have thick and thick hair, choose a highly moisturizing essential oil, and if you have fine hair, choose a refreshing one. Otherwise, it will not look good if it sticks to your scalp after application.
The most easily overlooked thing is actually the adjustment of living habits. If you stay up late every day and are high in sugar and oil, it will be useless even if you soak your hair in hair care essence. I once had a male friend who was in the early stages of male alopecia. He spent several thousand on anti-hair loss shampoo but it was of no use at all. Later he went to the dermatologist and the doctor told him to stop staying up late at night and give up milk tea. He also applied minoxidil every day. After half a year, his hair seams became much denser. Of course, you don’t need to be too harsh. Staying up late or eating hot pot occasionally will not cause hair loss all at once. Hair care is a matter of steady progress, so you don’t need to put too much pressure on yourself.
