      Are all carbohydrates the same?

The answer is no, because there are two types of carbohydrates, one is simple carbohydrates - sugar, and the other is complex carbohydrates - starch.

In fact, half of people's diet is composed of carbohydrates. Among these carbohydrates, foods containing complex carbohydrates include grains, beans, potatoes, and some fresh fruits and dried fruits including melon seeds. The difference between the two types of carbohydrates is that simple carbohydrates provide calories without the basic nutrients needed by the body, while complex carbohydrates contain vitamins, minerals and fiber in addition to basic nutrients.
